KUTULU in The Bazaar's curated selection

Our birds and horses have been selected for a virtual design collection curated by artists Malika Favre and George Wu. Our wooden friends make us proud!

The duo’s project, "I can’t afford this, but maybe she can," brings together design pieces from all over the world. So much beauty, oh boy! Our NOXUS jumped with joy when he saw the other toys, such as South African beaded zebras or a farm animal-themed puzzle. Meanwhile, the PI-PI birds became instant friends with their colourful peers from the Netherlands.

George Wu is a British designer, filmmaker, animator, and collector of creative hobbies and interesting objects. Malika Favre is a French artist based in Barcelona. Her signature illustration style features vibrant colours and bold geometric shapes—some of our favourite elements here at KUTULU!

The two friends and design lovers began virtually curating objects that caught their eye during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, their Instagram account @icantaffordthisbutmaybeshecan has attracted more than 400,000 followers from around the globe. Make sure to check it out. It’s like a gallery of contemporary design in the palm of your hand, a feast for both the eyes and the imagination.

After five years, the founders decided to take their Instagram gallery to the next level. They asked their fans what they wanted most, added their own ideas—and The Bazaar was born. It’s a virtual collection and a place for endless exploration and inspiration, with the option to purchase beautiful pieces you might never have come across otherwise.

We were absolutely thrilled when they reached out to us about collaborating. KUTULU now has its own page on the website, complete with the HIPO horses pricking up their ears: It’s nice to be here! Are they saying nice things? Oh yes, they wrote that we bring joy to children and grown-ups, too. And PI-PI? They’re looking forward to flying somewhere new. Woo-hoo!
